Willpower While Eating Out, Parties and Celebrations
Here are some tips for enjoying eating out, parties and celebrations throughout the year:
- Don’t skip meals
- Eat a small meal or snack before attending parties and special events
- Drink water when you arrive. (Often you are thirsty not hungry)
- Practice moderation not deprivation
- Remember - calories from alcoholic beverages count
- Order vegetable side dishes with sauce on the side
- Select food which are: GRILLED, STEAMED, BROILED, BAKED, ROASTED, POACHED, LIGHTLY SAUTEED or STIR-FRIED and GARDEN FRESH
- Ask the server to make substitutions like steamed vegetables instead of fries
- Ask for low-calorie salad dressing or lemon to squeeze on your salad
- Order fresh fruit or sorbet instead of cake, pie or ice cream desserts
- Dance if there is music
- Maintain your holiday exercise routine
- Have plenty of water and club soda available
- And most of all, stay positive
