Recipe: Green Banana Smoothie


When it comes to the green smoothie, the banana is one of the most popular ingredients. It is well known that bananas are an excellent source of potassium, Vitamin K, and numerous other vitamins and nutrients. Bananas will also provide your green smoothie with a thick, creamy consistency that is similar to that of a milkshake. Frozen bananas are even better! (Remove skins, break in half and place in a freezer bag for your smoothies.)

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • 2 handfuls of parsley, or spinach
  • 2 big handfuls of kale, or mix of kale and spinach
  • 2 cups of water

    Yield - Approx 210 calories per srvg.

    Each of these ingredients should be added to your blender one at a time and blended together until smooth. If you do not like the fruits that are included in this green smoothie, please substitute your own favorite fruits.
  • The pictured smoothie has the addition of raw, unsweetened cacao nibs as a special treat.
